Rather then limiting contact entry to predefined types for each user record - the XDe allows any number of different contacts to be recorded. The Contact type defines what kind of contact is being recorded on this line.

There is a predefined list of different types to choose from and the type selected will control how the contact info field is interpreted by the system.

When a new user form is first started there are some default types proposed, but these are entirely optional, they can be changed and/or will be ignored by the system if the contact info field is left blank.

Note: there is a distinction between:

• Phone: Home/Personal phone number
• Work Phone: a business phone number
• Toll Free: a toll-free contact number
