News from RHIOT
Heard from Kellei this morning, all is well in Bamfield - with the two night runs behind her and a forecast for 60kn winds...All in all it sounds as though her time at RHIOT has been About as good as it can be. With today as the last full day and the forecast for some rough weather it sounds as though it will be even better...
In completely unrelated "news" here are two summaries from Google news that I found this morning - appearing one right after the other ;)
US predicts active Hurricane season (Reuters)
Reuters - The 2006 Atlantic Hurricane season will be very active, with up to 10 hurricanes, although not as busy as record-breaking 2005, when Hurricane Katrina and several monster storms slammed into the United States, the U.S. governmentīs top climate agency said on Monday.
Hurricane Center Predicts Calmer Season (AP)
AP - A hectic, above-normal tropical storm season could produce between four and six major hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico this year, but conditions donīt appear ripe for a repeat of 2005īs record activity, the National Hurricane Center predicted Monday.
... Gotta love this clear, accurate reporting ;)
