The verdict: The Power Supply did it, in the office, with a faulty 12V supply

My new TruePowerII replacement Supply.
My new TruePowerII replacement Supply.
Basically everyone agreed it must be the power supply - and thatīs exactly what it was - just a coincidence that I found the failure at the same time as I replaced the memory (which is working great all 4GB of it!) the plus is the old memory allowed me to max out three other systems...

Now time will tell if it was also the cause of the random crashes - most likely it was.

Iīve had the new 550W in overnight and been coding away - everything feels much faster and seems very stable - I have a feeling the other supply had been dishing up lousy power for a while now - and Iīm really noticing the difference.

The old supply is under warranty so I will send away for a replacement and that will give me a really good 450W spare on hand - just in case.

Thankfully it was the easiest of the items to Fix and I could get a replacement quickly - total downtime only About 24 hours!
