Winter Forecast Fun

I think this morning set´s a record for the most weather warnings I have ever seen in my local forecast at the same time! Our snow is melting - but not quickly enough for the 100mm of rain we´re expecting - however perhaps the 70Kmph winds will blow it away...

Goodness! it´s like being caught in the middle of three different storms at the same time - well actually - I guess it´s exactly like that!

Here is just some of the forecast:

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements...
Heavy rain over much of the south coast will continue through today with total rainfall amounts of 70 to 100 mm expected by tonight.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements...
Southerly winds of 60 to 80 km/h will spread to Greater Vancouver East Vancouver Island Sunshine Coast and western Fraser Valley this morning.

At the moment the moment the rain is fairly strong - but nothing extraordinary and the snow is half melted - wind is only light though. I certainly hope that the snow melts more before the wind starts or we are going to have a LOT of trees down with this heavy wet snow and wet ground and wind all mixed up together... Taking bets on how long my power will last - what no takers? ;)
