Seamanship
The concept of learning seamanship from a book has been dismissed as folly by sailors throughout
the ages, but for many of us a book (or in this case the web) is the closest we shall come to learning the sailor's art.
Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this
information, but due to conflicting details surrounding many aspects of nautical history, seamanship, and terminology the information presented
here may differ from other accounts. Further all information here is presented for information only and you should consult the certified documentation for your local area
prior to undertaking any voyage, course of study, competency exams, or any other endevour where accurate knowledge of seamanship and the law is critical.
